We all been working for google, for free.what how

CAPTCHA. It’s used to verify if a user is a human or a Bot. thousands of websites used this technology. Around 200 million CAPTCHA typed each day.
Founder Luis Von Ahn then realized this massive human effort could be used for something good. They decided to use this to digitize all books. And so, reCAPTCHA was built.
This time there were 2 words. One for the verification and one from a scanned copy of a book to digitize the word so we all helped them digitize thousands of books for free. Google acquired reCAPTCHA in 2009 and used it to digitize the entire Google BOOKS library. Google now used image recognition instead of words and they used the collected data for their AI research.
